Leadership Development & Business Acumen:
Mentor Manufacturing Unit Leaders on BD’s business strategy, financials, and operational impact.
Enhance operational financial acumen among Manufacturing Unit Leaders and other plant leaders to improve decision-making and performance.
Act as a trusted advisor to the leadership team, providing insights and recommendations for business and operational improvements.
Strategic Operations:
Work with the Plant Leadership Team to identify, prioritize, and address key areas for operational improvement.
Ensure harmonization of the tiered management process across all business units to drive efficiency and standardization.
Assist all business units in developing and maintaining key performance indicators and ensuring proactive monitoring and response to trigger limits.
Proactively drive business performance improvements across all plant business units.
Collaborate with leadership to implement cost-to-win (C2W) initiatives, contributing annual savings equivalent to or greater than 3X salary.
Cross-Functional Coordination & Communication:
Serve as the liaison between supply chain and operations across all business units, ensuring schedule harmonization for maximum throughput and minimal downtime.
Provide expert operational insights and professionally communicate plant operations status to senior BD leadership.
Advocate for the success and revitalization of BD Sumter by promoting site-wide alignment and engagement.
Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field; MBA preferred.
Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in manufacturing leadership, business integration, or operations management.
Knowledge and Skills:
Strong financial foresight with the ability to translate operational performance into business impact.
Proven ability to mentor, coach, and develop leaders in financial and business insight.
Experience in lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and K.P.I. management.
Exceptional problem-solving, critical thinking, and communication.
Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional teams and drive alignment across multiple business units.
Physical Demands:
Walking frequently around the manufacturing environment to monitor progress, inspect work and attending meetings.
Lifting and carrying occasionally carrying materials or equipment up to 20 pounds.
Keyboarding frequently to enter data, create reports and communicate via email, teams, and other forms of plant communications.
Visual and auditory frequently to read and hear effectively.
Work Environment:
The position may involve working in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures.
