The Production Planning Manager will direct and manage production planning activities for the manufacturing facility.  This role involves providing leadership and direction to the Production Planning team.  They will champion reliable supply from the site to primary hub and other BDB sites within the network. Responsibilities also include reviewing and developing any corrective actions stemming from performance metric misses. Scope of processes managed: monthly site plan process, rough-cut capacity planning, materials requirements planning & materials supply, and detailed production scheduling.

This role requires close collaboration with various department as well as other production plants in the to optimize production efficiency and meet customer demands.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage capacity planning requirements for the plant including business supply needs.

  • Provide a supply Plan to project Volume and Hours (unconstraint & constraint) to Finance partners.

  • Plan and prepare production schedules for manufacturing through planners.

  • Develop and implement production planning policies, standards, guidelines, technology, and procedures.

  • Connect with Demand Planning and Supply Network Planning to ensure seamless flow of information and fully integrated approach to delivering key metrics.

  • Process owner for site inputs into the Supply S&OP process.

  • Manages the plant backorder ensuring appropriate communication is provided to customer service and key stakeholders, as appropriate.

  • Proactively manages supply to meet unconstrained customer demand while minimizing cost.

  • Responsible for short term and medium-term capacity planning

  • Set clear performance standards to hold people accountable for results, deliver customer service goals, optimize inventory investments, and meet production requirements, safety targets, and GMP compliance goals.

  • Build cross-functional and cross-departmental support, fostering overall group effectiveness.

  • Coach and guide teams / individuals to mine data from appropriate systems and able to conduct complex analysis for ad-hoc business requests.

  • Develops, coaches, and guides team in the execution of strategies and the realization of departmental and company goals.

  • Recruits top planning talent and create leadership succession plans, ensuring a strong talent pipeline.

  • Advances succession planning by having career conversations with staff.

  • Conducts regular 1:1s with each team member to provide regular, timely, and specific feedback to associates.

  • Promotes an inclusive workplace environment.

  • Actively engaged and accountable supply chain representative on the plant leadership team

Qualifications:

Education:

  • University Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent

  • Supply Chain Certifications (APICS/ IBF) are desirable.

Years of Experience:

  • Minimum 8 years related experience.

Experience Guidelines:

  • 5+ years supply chain experience

  • Minimum of 3 years people leadership experience

  • Experience with ERP (SAP) or equivalent required

Knowledge, Skills, and Capabilities:

  • Ability to develop, coach and lead a team in the execution of strategies and the realization of departmental and company goals.

  • Ability to build strong collaborative teams and relationships, leading cross functional/virtual teams where required.

  • Ability to communicate clearly, making the complex clear and compelling at all levels of the organization in both written & oral forms.

  • Ability to drive & apply continuous process improvement tools and improvements to large and complex projects.

  • Working knowledge of financial processes

  • Strong organization skills and an aptitude for planning with exceptional attention to detail

  • Ability to translate complex situations into simple working solutions.

  • Expert user of MS Office, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Power BI. and strong analytics background.
