BD Biosciences (BDB) is a leading provider of high-quality flow cytometry and single-cell genomics solutions, scientific research and clinical laboratories. Here, we are leading the way by developing the best technologies that have the ability to look closer at the details of cells and diseases.

Main responsibilities will include:

• Translate complex concepts into intuitive, visually compelling designs, communicating effectively with internal leaders, stakeholders, and customers.

• Lead the creation and delivery of comprehensive UX outputs, including UI specifications, wireframes, workflows, and prototypes, with minimal oversight.

• Lead and apply user-centred design processes, drawing on your expertise in either development or design to deliver innovative and effective user experiences.

• Act as a mentor and resource for colleagues, sharing knowledge and insights from your experience, whether in design, development or a combination of both.

• Autonomously set and manage work priorities, ensuring alignment with project goals and timelines, and maintaining a high standard of quality in all work you're doing.

• Applying and updating Design System to ensure uniformity within the software engineering organization and solidify brand recognition with our customers.

• Supporting design research for various features; conduct, interpret, and summarize UX research, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to finalize findings.

About you

• 5+ years of demonstrated experience in UX design, software development, or a combination of both, with a consistent track record of delivering user-centred solutions.

• Practical understanding of user research techniques and their application in solving design challenges, informed by experience in either a design or development context.

• Ability to translate user research findings and cross-functional stakeholder input into effective design solutions, with consideration for both usability and technical feasibility.

• A self-motivated approach to managing workload, prioritising tasks, and meeting critical project deadlines, regardless of whether the primary background is in design or development.

• Superb communication and collaboration skills, capable of working effectively within multidisciplinary teams.

• A Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D. in HCI, Design, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, with a strong record of academic achievement and relevant professional experience in design or development.

• Knowledge of immunology or other life sciences applications is a nice-to-have.

• Experience working with medical or life science instruments is a plus.
