Senior Category Manager - EMS/Contract Manufacturing
Job Description Summary
As Senior Category Manager Contract Manufacturing you will be engaging your virtual category team and leading spend management and procurement strategies for our global EMS, Contract Manufacturing and Electronics categories. You will be driving excellence in supplier relationship management with leading contract manufacturers and in stakeholder alignment to advance our manufacturing strategy, and support our Procurement vision of delivering exceptional value and competitive advantage through innovative, sustainable and resilient supply chain solutions. Main responsibilities will include:
- Category Strategy:Lead development and implementation of groundbreaking category strategies that enable profitable business growth and identify incremental value and synergies in a matrixed, multi-site, multi-business unit environment, ensuring integration with business vision and strategy.
- Sourcing Strategy:Deploy sourcing strategies and partner with the right supply base to address cost efficiency, innovation, supply chain risk reduction, environmental impact and spend leverage across BDs sites and business units
- Category Team:Engage and collaborate with virtual teams of procurement professionals ("Hub and Spoke" model) across BD and jointly define the strategic and tactical direction for the categories
- Supplier Management:Segment supply base, assign supplier relationship owners and nurture strong business relationships with key suppliers through impactful business reviews and multi-year value plans
- Market Intelligence & Analysis:Stay ahead of industry and global trends, new technologies and the competitive landscape to advise category strategies and supplier management activities
- Sustainability & Compliance:Promote and integrate responsible sourcing and sustainability requirements and best practices into procurement strategy and supplier management.
- Negotiations & Contracts:Lead enterprise-wide, high-impact negotiations and secure competitive agreements that balance cost, risk, innovation and long-term supplier partnerships.
- Customer Collaboration:Work cross-functionally with internal teams and business leaders to align procurement initiatives with business objectives and implement them seamlessly
- Cost Management: Take accountability to drive category savings pipeline and guide pricing for procured goods and services to meet financial and planning objectives.
- Policy:Advocate for and adherence to Procurement policy and source-to-pay process
About you
- BS/BA degree with 8-10+ years of proven experience with sophisticated manufacturing and supply chain environments from assignments in direct materials Category Management, Procurement, Sourcing, Operations, Supply Chain; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong understanding of category strategy development and source-to-pay process. Proven experience in procurement or supply chain management, preferably in the healthcare industry.
- Outstanding analytical skills to assess market conditions, supplier capabilities, and cost-saving opportunities.
- Commitment to results and evidence of taking initiative and successfully implementing procurement strategies that achieved desired outcomes.
- Experience with electronics, electro-mechanical, mechatronic and medical instrumentation supply base is an asset.
- Previous people management experience (mentoring and developing others) is preferred.
