OUS Demand & Supply Planner Surgery Infection Prevention
Job Description Summary
As the owner of the OUS (Outside of the US) demand planning process for the Surgery Infection Prevention business, you will be responsible for leading and coordinating the monthly demand consensus approach, with a core focus on EMEA. You will actively engage the Marketing, Sales and Finance community as key participants in the process. The work is both a key input to and output from the overall EMEA Surgery monthly IBP process.The position plays a key role in ensuring the business meets the (service) objectives by driving improvements in the planning process through enhanced market knowledge, systems usage and improved demand modelling. This implies a monthly review of historical demand, statistical/AI-ML forecast, capturing market intelligence and finalizing the consensus demand forecast for uploading into the Planning Book.

General Responsibilities:
A successful Planner will be able to improve our demand forecast accuracy, identify potential supply and demand issues, and devise ways to minimize stock shortages. Responsibility extends to the long-term demand planning process, ensuring Operations have a clear view of the growth outlook, thereby enabling them to act timely to mitigate potential Supply capacity constraints.
On the Supply side, this role seeks to ensure stable and balanced supply of materials to provide business continuity and meet customer demand while avoiding excess and obsolete inventory creation. You are responsible for establishing target inventory levels at the DC, ensuring production build targets are met and finished goods safety stock settings are maintained.

Chloraprep (10.5ml and 26ml) produced at the BD El Paso site
Europe is supplied from the BD Temse Distribution Center
EMA is supplied directly from El Paso
Greater Asia
Latin America
Hair removal products produced at Panasonic Japan and Panasonic China
Europe is supplied from the BD Temse Distribution Center
EMA is supplied from the US (project initiated to move supply to Temse)

Responsibilities:
Maintain demand forecasts while reducing forecast error
Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, and Finance to understand demand forecast drivers via, amongst other avenues, the monthly Demand Consensus mtgs.
Analyze and interpret demand patterns and their implications, use statistical and analytical tools for forecasting, and challenge country input
Monitor and report on important changes in sales forecasts, budgets, and business strategies
Prepare and maintain relevant reports pertaining to the demand planning process
Present forecast and inventory measurements to the management team
Take shared ownership of Forecast Accuracy results
Timely and accurately enter the consensus figures into DP for monthly pass into S&OP to accurately determine production planning
Address demand-related issues in a timely and effective manner
Manage communication and coordination across the regional marketing and finance areas as well as across country sales and marketing teams
Liaise and work closely with the relevant Global Planning, Quality, RA, and Manufacturing teams
Streamline the end-to-end supply chain distribution process to maximize the supply chain performance efficiency and cost effectiveness
Manage back orders, updating various supply issues from the source plants / DCs and develop mitigation plans where applicable
Monitor excess and obsolete inventory and develop strategies and/or plans to eliminate excess
Track key metrics (Forecast Accuracy, OTIF, DIO, Back Order) of the process and drive for continuous improvement in these areas
Support product launches (e.g. Surgiphor and PurPrep)
Monitor and utilize DP alerts and Power BI reports

Desired Knowledge / Experience:
Demand and/or Supply planning experience in a large or complex organization
Led and coordinated demand consensus activities
Experience with statistical forecasting models
ERP experience (SAP APO, SCM DP/SP, LOTS, or other tools)
Strong Excel skills
APICS CPIM certification preferred
Fluent English
Education and/or Experience:
BA/BS in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Statistics, Economics or related degree. Masters Degree or MBA preferred
