Position Summary:

For our Pharmacy Automation portfolio, we are looking for a seasoned Lead Data Engineer. 
 As a Data Engineer, you will collaborate with business stakeholders to enable data driven decisions to manage the complete data life cycle. You will collaborate closely with our software development teams in the pharmacy automation area on turning our visions into reality. 

The Becton Dickinson Medical Management Solution (MMS) seeks a Lead Data Engineer focused on to use various methods to transform raw data into useful data systems, from creation of algorithms and conducting statistical analysis. Overall, you’ll strive for efficiency by aligning data systems with business goals.
This position requires an enthusiastic expert with a mix of intelligence, integrity, and technical skill that allows you to focus on collaborating with a team through mentoring, coaching, and solving challenging technical problems.

Responsibilities:

• Design, implement and manage ingestion pipelines, data lake and data warehouse solutions. 

• Develop, test, document and maintain scalable data pipelines, both on-premises and cloud. 

• Develops and maintains scalable data pipelines and builds out new API integrations to support continuing increases in data volume and complexity.
• Establish and follow data governance processes and guidelines to ensure data availability, usability, consistency, integrity, and security. 

• Build and implement scalable solutions that align to our data governance standards and architectural road map for data integrations, data storage, reporting, and analytic solutions. 

• Collaborate with analytics and business teams to improve data models that feed business intelligence tools, increasing data accessibility, and fostering data-driven decision making across the organization. 

• Design and develop data integrations and a data quality framework. Write unit/integration/functional tests and document work. 

• Design, implement, and automate deployment of our distributed system for collecting and processing streaming events from multiple sources. 

• Perform data analysis required to troubleshoot data-related issues and assist in the resolution of data issues. 

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field or equivalent work experience 

• Minimum of 9+ years of professional experience in data models, data mining, and segmentation techniques
• Seasoned technical expert who has experience to mentor the team
• Experience working with cloud computing platforms

• Extensive knowledge building real-time data processing, data pipelines, transformation and modeling using traditional and distributed systems. 

• Extensive knowledge in building and supporting data lake and data warehousing systems. 

• Experience using SQL queries as well as writing and optimizing SQL queries in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasets. 

• Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills. 

• Process oriented with great documentation skills. 

• Proficient with coding in Python or with any OO programming language. 

• Experience with data warehouse technologies and real time streaming. 
• Data quality responsibilities including defining and documenting data plans, managing reviews, execution and ensuring data quality.

• Experience designing data schemas and operating SQL/NoSQL database systems. 

• Experience with Big Data tools like Spark, Kafka, etc. is a plus.
